Head of Network Operations Department

About the Unit

FMTIS Operations Unit (DriftE) ensures the continuous operation of the Armed Forces' technical command support systems around the clock, all year round. The Operations Unit forms the backbone of the Armed Forces' ability to communicate and lead. Through us, government administration, command of military operations, and the operational situation picture in the maritime, air, land, and cyber domains are made possible. Together, we form a robust operational organization that ensures the availability and integrity of the Armed Forces' technical command systems and facilities. The unit has over 350 employees distributed across 8 departments, of which the Network Operations Department is one.

As the Head of the Network Operations Department, you will be responsible for operational monitoring and remote troubleshooting measures within the FM strategic networks. The Network Operations Department is divided into 5 sections: TDC (Tele Operations Center) Bålsta, TDC Örebro, TDC Hästveda, NOC (Network Operations Center) Arboga, and Rakelsektion Enköping. The department is growing and consists of both officers and civilians. FMTIS's mission within and outside the Armed Forces involves rapid changes in pace, so you must feel comfortable quickly shifting focus between different tasks. The operation is in an expansive phase, which places high demands on you as a leader to manage and embrace changes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the Network Operations Department
  • Be responsible for personnel planning
  • Be responsible for personnel administration within your own department
  • Be responsible for payroll administration within your own department
  • Be responsible for individual and training planning
  • Be responsible for training within the framework of your own operations
  • Conduct budgeting and periodic reporting
  • Conduct salary, employee, and termination interviews
  • Participate in smaller work and project groups
  • Be part of the unit's management team

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Officer level OF-3 or alternatively OF-2/OR-7-8 with very good grades
  • Experience in personnel responsibility
  • Driving license B

Meritorious

  • Command System Officer
  • Experience in monitoring and operational activities
  • Experience in FM telecommunications infrastructure and command systems
  • Experience in personnel responsibility for civilian employees
  • Experience in equivalent operations within the private sector or another authority

Other

Permanent employment (a six-month probationary period applies for those who are currently not employed by the Armed Forces). Start date according to agreement. Place of work: Bålsta or Örebro. Work will also take place at other locations. Salary: Individual salary setting.
